Why renovate or restore a home in Le Marche ? The region of Le Marche lies between Emilio Romagna to the north, Abruzzo to the South, Umbria to the west and the Adriatic sea to the east. It is often known as all regions in one because it has a bit of everything – seaside, mountains and rolling hills reminiscent of Umbria and Tuscany.
We work in the area of Southern Le Marche, within the regions of Ascoli Piceno, Fermo and Macerata. It is a stunning area, full of hill top villages and fields of vines and olive trees. More importantly for those wishing to own an Italian home, there are still many properties to renovate and in beautiful positions.
Recently named as number two region in the world to visit in 2020 by Lonely Planet, Le Marche is no longer Italy’s best kept secret.
Authentic Italy
Le Marche is authentic Italy, with friendly people, no hoardes of tourists, great value restaurants, old fashioned piazzas and a slower pace of life. There is of course also art and culture, but in small bites and the best fresco is often one in a hidden little church with no other visitors.
Find your Italian home
What is lovely about the area of Le Marche is the abundance of properties crying out for renovation and many with stupendous views.

Le Marche seasons
Le Marche holds interest in every season. Summer is pool and beach season with almost daily village street festas. The sunflower fields of early summer are simply stunning.
Autumn is the grape and olive harvest. A beautiful time to enjoy your second home. Nights are cooler but days are often sunny with clear views across the hills.
Winter can bring some snow, and it blankets the Sibillini mountains most of the season making for gorgeous views and the possibility of skiing in small ski areas up from Sarnarno. Christmas brings live nativities and an atmosphere of time gone by without the mass consumerism of other cultures. End of winter is Carnival time and there are some excellent local events.
Spring comes early and the fertile land is carpeted with wild flowers and plants. In Italian this season is Primavera, meaning first green and le Marche is definitely green! Look out for Easter processions like the Good Friday one in Montalto.
Village Life or Rural Escape
Le Marche is scattered with hill top villages and some home owners invest in a townhouse with a terrace or balcony, within walking distance from local bars and small village shops. This maybe a good choice for those who want a lock up and leave property without extensive gardens and pool.
Out of the villages are properties surrounded by land, fields of olive trees and farmland. Often needing complete renovation, these rural farmhouses can become a complete Italian retreat far from the madding crowd.
